Melanie Baker is a lecturer in the Maryland English Institute, housed in the College of Education. Since earning her M.A. in TESOL from Seattle Pacific University in 2009, she has taught English in a variety of contexts, both in the U.S. and abroad. She is passionate about professional development for teachers, and has conducted workshops for pre-service and in-service English language teachers in the U.S., Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Ukraine. In addition to teaching, Ms. Baker is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the International Education Policy program here at UMD.
