Ditra Backup (dbackup@umd.edu) joins TLPL after working as a middle and high school social science teacher in Chicago Public Schools. Her experiences as an educator inform her research interests in how social justice- and equity-oriented policies are implemented in k-12 classrooms. She currently serves as a Department Assembly Representative on the TLPL Graduate Student Association.
Ditra previously earned her B.A. in Psychology and International Affairs from The George Washington University and M.S.Ed. in Secondary Teaching from Northwestern University.
When she is not reading or writing about education, you can find her talking about Vermont or spending time outside.
