AmeriCorps Scholarship
The College of Education is proud to support AmeriCorps alumni who wish to continue their service by becoming teachers! As an AmeriCorps School of National Service, we provide scholarship funds to individuals who have successfully completed full-time service with AmeriCorps.

Eligibility:
- AmeriCorps alumni who have successfully completed their full-time term of service with AmeriCorps. Those who have successfully completed part-time AmeriCorps programs may be eligible for a prorated award.
- Applicants must be enrolled in the Master’s Certification program (MCERT), a one-year graduate-level teacher preparation program that leads to teacher certification (elementary, middle, secondary, or PreK-12) and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in curriculum and instruction.
- Applicants must complete a very brief scholarship application that describes their service with AmeriCorps.
- Note: If you served with AmeriCorps in 2025 and your service was terminated by the federal government, please reach out to Raven Wilson at rbwilson@umd.edu.
Award:
Each school year, the College of Education will issue up to five awards of up to $4,000 each.
