***International Student INS Requirements***

The University of Maryland is required by U.S. regulations to comply with a new program of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) known as SEVIS (Student/Exchange Visitor Information System). SEVIS requires the Office of International Education (IES) to report detailed and absolutely current information on all international students/scholars being sponsored by the University of Maryland for F-1 and J-1 visas.

Reporting requirements and forms are available through the International Education Services Office web site. Students are required to report information through SEVIS, the Student/Exchange Visitor Information System. Students are encouraged to subscribe to the IESNEWS an e-mail list-serve to receive the latest information
