Dr. Debra Neubert, Principal Investigator

Debra Neubert, professor, has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the Secondary and Transition specialty area in the Department of Special Education at the University of Maryland since 1986. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Maryland, she was a Vocational Evaluator in St. Mary’s County Public Schools and provided in-service training to vocational-technical and special educators in Maryland. She also served as Project Director of research transition grant at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Debra is currently involved in several personnel preparation projects which focus on training transition specialists and secondary special educators. She was part of team that conducted a follow-up study of a large urban school system in the late 1980s and has been involved in numerous efforts in the state of Maryland to increase quality transition services to youth with disabilities. Other research interests center on transition assessment, case management strategies, and program evaluation of secondary special education programs.
