This site would probably be more helpful to program developers (who develop programs for students ages 18-21 on community college campuses’) than families.

The HEATH Resource Center of The George Washington University, Graduate School of Education and Human Development, is the national clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities. Support from the U.S. Department of Education enables the clearinghouse to serve as an information exchange about educational support services, policies, procedures, adaptations, and opportunities at American campuses, vocational-technical schools, and other postsecondary training entities.

The list of publications is extensive and beneficial for people to browse because it provides brief abstracts on various handbooks, guides, parent briefs, policy updates, and reports. Postsecondary Innovative Transition and Technology

Offers a listing of colleges in Washington state that help students with disabilities, and describes what help is available, and how to obtain that help. More colleges are joining this list in order to provide more regarding more schools. Provides information on various laws and how they impact postsecondary education. The resources offered on the site provides links to sources ranging from assistive technology to transition planning. Provides a Planning Worksheet section and Guidance Activities section that assess’ a student’s readiness to move on to college and prepares that student for college. These worksheets and activities are excellent tools because they are actual units and lesson plans that teachers, students, and parents can access from the website.

SDSP--Self-Determination Synthesis Project

This site was developed to provide information about the review and synthesis of the knowledge base and best practices related to self-determination and self-advocacy that is currently being reviewed by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. This web site currently contains a list of self-determination resources, including research references, curricula, and other materials. Eventually a list of web links, ideas for teaching self-determination, and other features will be added.
