College of Education in the Top 25 for
ninth straight year in U.S. News & World Report rankings

Department of Counseling and Personnel Services ranked first in nation for ninth consecutive year

US News America's Best Graduate Schools 2009
COLLEGE PARK, MD (April 2008) – For the ninth consecutive year, the College of Education has maintained its Top 25 ranking and is home to the number one Counseling and Personnel Services department in the nation. All of the college's ranked programs and departments are in the Top 15, with five programs in the Top 10, according to the U.S. News & World Report survey released on April 1. The college was rated the no. 25 top school of education in the country.

"We can be proud to count ourselves as one of the best colleges of education in the nation," said Interim Dean Donna Wiseman. "Our position in the Top 25 is evidence of the strength and dedication of our faculty and staff, the achievements of our students, and the high regard of our peers."

The following college departments and programs are ranked among the Top 10 in the nation:

The 2009 rankings are released in 2008 as part of U.S. News magazine's annual guide of 'America's Best Graduate Schools', currently available at bookstores. U.S. News also distributes the results of its rankings and explains the survey methodology on its web site: www.usnews.com
