College of Education Graduate Research Day set for May 2, 2008
COLLEGE PARK, MD (April 2008) The intellectual talent of graduate students from across the college will be on display May 2 as the Graduate Education Committee, in collaboration with the Office of the Dean, hosts College of Education Graduate Research Day 2008. Beginning at 9 a.m. in the Atrium (Room 1107) Stamp Student Union, the conference-style event will feature three multidisciplinary paper sessions throughout the day, with five papers presented per session.
“The College of Education Graduate Research Day is meant to be the start of a tradition, where we formally celebrate the scholarly accomplishments of our graduate students,” said Gregory Hancock, Interim Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education. “Our goal is to underscore the value of high quality research at the graduate level while contributing to the interdisciplinary dialog, collaboration, and research culture within our college.”
The sessions conclude at 2:30 p.m. with a reception for students and faculty. For details on student presentations, visit the College of Education Graduate Research Day 2008 website, or email Gregory Hancock (ghancock@umd.edu) to learn more about the event.
