| COE's Kathryn Alvestad to present on Hybrid Learning Solutions |

Adjunct Associate Professor Kathryn Alvestad, of the Department of Measurement, Statistics & Evaluation, will be one of two guest speakers at this month's Office of Information Technology (OIT) Learning Technologies brown-bag lunch series. The focus will be Hybrid Learning Solutions—teaching methods that blend face-to-face traditional discussion and lectures with in-class technology use and online learning tools. The talk will be this Friday, March 6, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose room (0105) of St. Mary's Hall. No registration is required.

| OIT/CTE Innovations in Teaching and Learning Conference set for April 24 |

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) are sponsoring the third annual Innovations in Teaching and Learning (ITL) Conference on Friday, April 24, at the Stamp Student Union.
The ITL conference focuses on a variety of technology used across the University of Maryland campus, and showcases the range of experiences, successes and challenges that faculty have in integrating the effective use of technology into teaching and learning.
Julie Little, Interim Director of the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI), will give the morning (breakfast) keynote address. She will discuss ELI's "Top Teaching and Learning Challenges" project and will solicit additional input from faculty and staff attending the conference. The luncheon keynote--"Capturing the Visible Evidence of Invisible Learning,"--will be given by Randy Bass, Executive Director and Assistant Provost for Teaching and Learning Initiatives and of Georgetown's Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS).
