Will Obama Shatter Negative Stereotypes of Black Men?

Professor Courtland Lee, Department of Counseling and Personnel Services, weighed in on whether Barack Obama's presidency has had limited effects on the black community. He also commented on public opinion that Obama would be accused of racial favoritism if he focused attention on the plight of young black men.

"Anything he does that looks in the eyes of white America like he's helping black people is going to backfire politically," said Lee. "That's just the reality of it."
