Dr. Courtland Lee
He is the author, editor, or co-editor of four books on multicultural counseling and the author of two books on counseling African American males. In addition, he has published numerous book chapters and articles on adolescent development and counseling across cultures. Dr. Lee served as President of the American Counseling Association, President of the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development and President of Chi Sigma Iota, the international counseling honor society. He is a charter member of Chi Sigma Iota's Academy of Leaders for Excellence. Dr. Lee is the former editor of the Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development and the Journal of African American Men. He currently serves on the editorial board of the International Journal for the Advancement of Counseling and the Career Development Quarterly. Dr. Lee is the Secretary of the International Association for Counseling and serves as that association's nongovernmental representative to the United Nations in New York. He is also a Fellow of the British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy, the first and only American to receive this honor. Dr. Lee has held counselor education positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Virginia. In addition, he served as the Dean of the School of Education at Hunter College of the City University of New York. A former teacher and school counselor, Dr. Lee serves as an educational consultant in the United States and abroad. |
