University of Delaware — The University of Delaware is a privately endowed, publicly supported university located in Newark. Faculty in mathematics education are: Dawn Berk, Jinfa Cai, Brad Glass, James Hiebert, Mandy Hoffman, Mary Ann Huntley, Laura Kincaid, and Anne Morris. Their current research and development activities focus on: mathematical reasoning and problem solving in children and adults; cross-cultural studies of mathematics learning and teaching; and professional development of mathematics teachers.
University of Maryland — The University of Maryland is a public university located in College Park. Faculty in mathematics education include Patricia Campbell, Dan Chazan, James Fey, Anna Graeber, Martin Johnson, and Aisling Leavy. Their current research and development activities focus on: teacher development in urban schools; innovative middle and high school curriculum materials; student and teacher conceptions of key topics in mathematics; and improving achievement of students in urban schools.
The Pennsylvania State University — The Pennsylvania State University is a public university located in State College. Faculty in mathematics education are Glen Blume, M. Kathleen Heid, Martin Simon, Tad Watanabe, and Rose Mary Zbiek. Their current research and development activities focus on technology-intensive mathematics curricula, teaching, and learning; learning of mathematics at the elementary, secondary, and early college levels; preparation and professional development of K-12 mathematics teachers, and construction of mathematical and pedagogical understandings.
