A new School-Based Leadership initiative began this Fall 2006. A "Spanish for Educators" class was developed for teachers at Bladensburg High School and William Wirt Middle School. Classes at William Wirt will begin Spring 2007. Currently two classes are being taught at Bladensburg - Ana Acedo, from the Spanish Department at Maryland holds one class and Janet Simpson, Spanish teacher at Bladensburg teachs the other class.
