Confused about options for staying and working in the United States after graduation? Worried about the H1B quota? The School of Engineering is pleased to sponsor a seminar presented by two experienced immigration attorneys. Topics will include a detailed discussion of the H1B visa, which is the most popular work visa in the US, Optional Practical Training (OPT), and options for pursuing permanent residence through employment. In addition, our speakers will provide practical strategies for talking to employers about work visa issues during interviews. Our guest speakers, Mark Rhoads and Helen Konrad, are from the law firm of McCandlish Holton. |

Presenting: UCC/TPP, School of Engineering, and IES
Information on Curricular Practical Training (CPT) for F-1 students and Academic Training for J-1 students. Explanation of the Engineering Co-op & Career Services Office’s ENCO 099 course. Information on how to find an internship, challenges that international students face, and University Career Center services. This workshop is open to international students who have been in F-1 or J-1 status for at least one academic year and who are eligible for CPT or AT. |

Scholar Orientation: Every Wednesday
Orientation for J-1 researchers, short-term scholars, professors, interns and trainees is held every Wednesday morning from 10:00am - 12:00pm*. Attendance at orientation is required as soon as possible after your arrival at the university.
