HTML, or Hyper Text Markup Language is the code that computers understand when reading web pages. Composer cuts out having to learn HTML and allows you to type and insert graphics, very much like Microsoft's Word, to create your page. The drawback to Composer is that for those users that know how to write even the most basic HTML you cannot draw on that knowledge to assist in Composer. In more advanced forms of web authoring tools you can manipulate the HTML that the tool creates at the same time as you can manipulate the text you input into the tool. This sounds complicated, but for now, Composer is a very user-friendly web authoring tool that allows you to create a web page suitable for Internet publishing.
