What are the Common Tasks Shortcuts?

The Common Tasks shortcuts allow you to do many of the more mundane jobs required in PowerPoint quickly. There will be three tasks you can choose from in this drop-down window.
 
 

New Slide

This option allows you to insert a new slide quickly and with the same options as the "Insert"  "New Slide" method.

Slide Layout

This option will allow you to manipulate the text and graphic auto-layout that was chosen when you inserted a new slide. 

Apply Design Template

This option allows you to either choose or change the design template of their presentation. This is handy if you decide that your first choice is not working out as well as you had hope.
