Generally, participants expressed that the Institute was effective at improving the integration of technology in their instruction.

(a) make the goals/objectives/ requirements clear in the beginning,

(b) consider the variety of participants and allow them to chose what they would like to attend or separate them for certain sections (e.g., Praxis and MSPAP), and

(c) give them more time to interact/share with others

To learn (a) about successful lesson plans that have been tried out in integrating technology and teaching,

(b) various technology/ software that is appropriate for various age groups or subjects,

(c) technology skills such as how to design Web pages, and

(d) ideas proposed by other groups in the Design Institute.

Overall, participants expressed that the Institute was effective at improving the integration of technology in their instruction. Participants enjoyed (a) the opportunities to interact/collaborate with others,

(b) the well organized and mixed activities/presentations,

(c) the hands on exploration activities, and

(d) the software training workshops offered in the Institute.

(a) provide less talking/ presentations and focus more on hands-on activities,

(b) make more time for examples from current teachers and for software training,

(c) arrange more time for participants to work with team members, and

(d) make suggestions, feedback, and evaluations from other teams/experts available for each team

To learn: (a) in-depth and advanced software/ hardware,

(b) real life examples form experienced teachers, and

(c) to learn with other members with similar interests and content focus.

In general, participants expressed that the Institute was effective at improving the integration of technology in their instruction. They also thought the workshops and assistance provided were useful. Participants liked the idea of sharing units with other teams and exchanging ideas but they commented that sharing through posters was unclear. They would like more detailed and specific information. They hoped to use technology to facilitate their presentations. They would also like to have some feedback after sharing.

To have: (a) more workshops with longer periods for learning, workshops assisting learners in acquiring more advanced technology skills and handouts of workshops,

(b) examples on how to apply this information in classroom teaching, and

(c) to learn from other units previously designed and from successful examples in actual classrooms.

Generally, participants expressed that the Institute was effective at improving the integration of technology in their instruction. They felt that it was well organized and that the staff was enthusiastic and helpful. They also thought the workshops and the speakers were great. They also enjoyed the opportunities to work on their units with their design teams.

(a) more hands-on activities,

(b) make more time available for design teams without conflicting with workshops,

(c) make handouts for workshops,

(d) more diverse curricula coverage - participants came from various disciplines and academic levels and were at different levels of skill and knowledge.

They are eager to continue to learn more technologies and to learn more about how to apply them to classroom teaching.
