| The mission
of the Region III Community Rehabilitation Providers Rehabilitation
Continuing
Education Program at the University
of Maryland is to improve competitive employment outcomes
for
persons with significant disabilities. This is achieved by providing
training
and technical assistance to representatives of community
rehabilitation,
independent living, State VR, and the business communities from
Delaware,
the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West
Virginia.
Specific training and technical assistance needs are identified
through
regional and state advisory councils, focus groups, and needs
assessments.
The target audience includes Community Rehabilitation personnel whose organizations provide services to individuals of State Vocational Rehabilitation agencies; other CRP and VR professionals; and independent living center staff, job seekers, employers, and advocates.
