Mathletics is a summer math camp for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade mathematically talented and motivated students. Energetic certified teachers will teach challenging mathematical concepts through group and hands-on activities. Teachers will be supported by University of Maryland undergraduate STEM (e.g., mathematics, engineering, computer science, etc) majors who are preparing to teach mathematics in middle and high schools. Mathletics aims to augment students' mathematical comprehension and develop their critical thinking through group problem solving activities and engagement in physical activities based on mathematical concepts. Additionally, teachers and undergraduates will introduce students to math-related careers.
Students are encouraged to bring a laptop or iPad for activities. Students are also required to bring lunch daily.
