Human Development, Developmental Science Specialization
The goal of the program is to train students for research careers in academic or applied areas of child development; graduates have obtained positions as university professors and research scientists.

Human Development,Educational Psychology Specialization
The faculty in the Educational Psychology Specialization focus on the processes involved in learning across the life span and competent functioning in educational settings. Themes include cognitive development, focusing on language, mathematics, and reading, social and academic aspects of motivation and self-regulation, and parent, teacher and peer relationships as they relate to school success. There are significant strengths in language learning, bilingualism, motivation, social influences on learning, and cognitive neuroscience of reading.

Measurement, Statistics & Evaluation Program
We offer graduate programs in Measurement, Statistics and Evaluation that train future professionals in these areas and lead to both the Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. Our programs are widely recognized as being among the best programs in the country with exceptional students trained by faculty who are respected leaders within their specialties.

NICHD-Funded Training Program in Social Development
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Graduate Training Program in Social Development provides pre-doctoral support for graduate training in the area of social development, and funding to hlep with the infrastructure of the training.
