The Faculty Technology Fellows program began as a matching grant between the Center for Teaching Excellence and the College of Educationís Office of the Dean, with additional support from the Office of Information Technology (now Division of Information Technology). During its first year it generated targeted successes, and has since reached out to make a broader impact. It is intended for faculty members who would like to utilize tech tools in their teaching (whether basic or more complex) and would benefit from this collaborative approach.
The initiative is intended to generate three primary outcomes:
- Support each individual Fellow as s/he uses technology to achieve her/his instructional and community-building goals,
- Create a cohort of faculty members who regularly share ideas and develop expertise, both for individual growth and to serve as a pool of resources for other instructors, and
- Impact the culture of the College, so that innovation and collaboration around educational technology are valued and encouraged.
- During the 2017/2018 academic year, the focus and priority of the Fellows program will be the Online Classroom. You will discover creative, engaging and effective online mechanisms to enhance your students learning and your own satisfaction and effectiveness.
