Hi! I'm Shannon from Severn Maryland. In High School I was a peer tutor in my school's deaf and hard of hearing program. As a result of my experience I became interested in working in special education and also deaf education. I am currently a 5th year student majoring in secondary special education. I spent the last 5 semesters taking classes at both Galludet University and the University of Maryland through the consortium program. In the future I want to work with kids who are deaf and hard of hearing, perhaps in a transition program. Maryland's program makes this big school feel like a small community, where the professors get to know me and I'm not just a number. Go Terps!!
