Doctoral Program:
Policy Studies


The University of Maryland is proud to announce the development of a new doctoral program leading to a PhD. The program will prepare doctoral students to conduct large-scale research to inform policy by providing training in specific research methodologies and design principles. An emphasis is placed on research involving children and youth with disabilities. Students in the program will have the opportunity to:

red arrow Take courses taught by faculty at UMCP in the disciplines of education, public, and disability policy; and quantitative methods
red arrow Attend and/or participate in seminars
red arrow Gain hands-on experience in large-scale research
red arrow Interact with federal policymakers in a number of agencies
