Doctoral Studies:
Learning Disabilities


The doctoral program in Learning Disabilities is currently accepting applications; individuals can earn a Ph.D. from one of the nation’s highest ranked graduate programs.

Students accepted into The University of Maryland’s Doctoral Program in Learning Disabilities are prepared to assume leadership positions in universities, state and local education agencies, policy organizations, and the federal government.

Through coursework and apprenticeships, the student learns and practices the skills associated with scholarship and teacher education in the field of learning disabilities.

There are planned opportunities to work with faculty in research, training, and service activities.

Research seminars conducted by faculty and students serve to enhance communication and stimulate the critical analysis of ideas.

Fellowships are available on a competitive basis. Features include:
