High School/High Tech Program (HS/HT) 
The HS/HT Program at the University of Maryland provides support to students with disabilities in the Young Scholars Program. Students live on campus for three weeks or commute from home (July 8-July 27)
Students must be interested in a summer courses that emphasizes technology such as Engineering; Biology; Math & Games; Education & Technology; Music & Technology.
The Program is staffed by faculty and graduate students from the Departments of Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling in the College of Education. Funding is through the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) and The Maryland HS/HT Programs.
Students selected for the HS/HT Program, may receive financial support for dorm expenses and an employment internship. We encourage students and their families to contact local DORS counselors for additional support during the HS/HT Program and beyond.
1. Must have an IEP or 504 Plan in high school
2. Must apply and be admitted to the Young Scholars Program (YSP) at the University of Maryland. Applications will be available February 19, 2007
3. Must select a YSP course that emphasizes technology
4. Must contact HS/HT to indicate interest by May 15th - Omayra Munoz
5. Must agree to participate in all HS/HT activities which include: student and family interview, development of individual support plan and resume, attend career seminars, advocate for additional tutoring or support when needed on campus, complete an employment internship, and student and family interviews at various points throughout the next year.
