Specialty Area: Early Childhood Special Education


Current Interests:

Dr. Cooper is an Associate Professor of Special Education and specializes in early childhood, with emphasis on preschool and primary-grade students who have, or are at risk for, learning and behavioral disabilities. His research focuses on instructional environments, developmental assessment of children, language and emergent literacy, and behavior disorders. Dr. Cooper is also co-director of Camp Attaway, a therapeutic day camp for children with emotional or behavioral disorders, and is active in the Professional Development School (PDS) effort in the College of Education.
