The Maryland Principal's Institute (MPI) is an opportunity for the principals from across the state of Maryland to work and learn together in areas essential to the practice of leading successful schools.

The Maryland Principals' Institute is the result of a collaboration between the University of Maryland at College Park and the Maryland State Department of Education. It is in its third year of operation. Past conferences have been on the themes of Change Process and Databased Instructional Decision-Making.

The format of the institute allows time to attend the sessions and time to interact with colleagues in small groups. The theme for the 2000-01 three-day summer conference and the three follow-up sessions is:
