This resource contains materials related to the
Sage book, Latent Class Scaling Analysis, in the Series: Quantitative
Methods in the Social Sciences (# 126). Essentially, these are appendix materials
that extend the scope of the book. The current content includes:
Latent Class Analysis for Dichotomous Data (LCADD) - Gauss
program for latent class analysis of dichotomous response variables (0/1 or 1/2 format) with
input from Excel spreadsheet. Program is under development and will be updated periodically.
Latent Class Scaling Analysis: Gauss Simulation
Program - a program written in the Aptech GAUSS matrix language is
provided. This program can be used to conduct a parametric bootstrap for a two-class latent
class model. For those familiar with the GAUSS language, the program can be readily adapted
for more general models.
Latent Class Scaling Analysis: MLLSA Examples
- contains examples of program set-ups for Cliff Clogg's MLLSA program
that can be used to conduct unrestricted and restricted latent class analyses.
Computing the Rudas, Clogg and Lindsay Measure
of Fit, p* , using Excel Solver -
a step-by-step description of computing the p*
statistic using the non-linear programming algorithm,
Solver, that is available in the Excel spreadsheet.
Fitting a Covariate Latent Class Model using
Excel Solver - An unrestricted or restricted latent class model with
the latent class proportion conditioned on one or more covariates can be
estimated using Excel Solver.
