Prospective Graduate Students:
If you are interested in applying to work with Dr. Killen in the graduate program, please send email to Dr. Killen, mkillen@umd.edu, and send email to the Graduate Secretary, humandev@umd.edu, to request a graduate handbook and information about the application process. Our graduate program has a mentorship model, and graduate students study as apprentices with specific faculty members. Therefore, it’s important to contact faculty members directly about a match of interests between the applicant and the potential faculty mentor. Dr. Killen is in the Developmental Science area of specialization in the graduate program.
Prospective Undergraduate Students:
If you are interested in working for research credit in the Social and Moral Development Laboratory, please send email to Dr. Killen, and a graduate student will set up an interview with you regarding your interests and to explain our projects. Students can receive independent credit by taking 3 credits of EDHD 498 or Psychology 479. Permission of the Instructor is required.
Faculty Colleagues:
We have a Visiting Scholar’s office in our Center for Children, Relationships, and Culture. This office is available for visiting faculty and scholars for brief or extended visits. We supply access to a computer, library privileges, and university resources. We are located 25 minutes from Washington , D.C. , the NIH, the NSF, and many universities and institutions in the Washington/Baltimore area (George Washington, Georgetown , Johns Hopkins, UMBC, and George Mason).
