The Center
for Young Children is open Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to
5:30 pm.
The CYC is closed for all University holidays. Additionally, five
Teacher Workshop days are scheduled over the 10-month calendar.
The CYC follows the Prince George's Public Schools for school closings
due to inclement weather. The CYC calendar is provided for each
family in the yearly Parent Handbook.

The CYC
is located in Building 381 on Valley Drive on the University of
Maryland College Park Campus. It is in the Northwestern quadrant
between Elkton Hall and the Campus Recreation Building.

North - Baltimore
- Take
I-95 South to Exit 25 - College Park. Take Exit 25 (Route 1)
South to MD Rt. 193 West. Continue on Md. 193 (University Boulevard)
past Metzerott Road and take a left into the University at Stadium
Drive (the entrance to the University Golf Course will be on
your right). Take the 2nd right off the circle and then the
first left onto Valley Drive. The Center for Young Children
is the 2nd building on the left. Please park in Lot YC adjacent
to the building.
From:
Northwest - Rockville, Silver Spring
- Take
I-495 East (Inner Loop) to Exit 25 - College Park. Take Exit
25 (Route 1) South to MD Rt. 193 West. Continue on Md. 193 (University
Boulevard) past Metzerott Road and take a left into the University
at Stadium Drive (the entrance to the University Golf Course
will be on your right). Take the 2nd right off the circle and
then the first left onto Valley Drive. The Center for Young
Children is the 2nd building on the left. Please park in Lot

South - Virginia
- Take
I-495 to Woodrow Wilson Bridge (Outer Loop). Continue on I-495
to Exit 25 - College Park. Take Exit 25 (Route 1) South to MD
Rt. 193 West. Continue on Md. 193 (University Boulevard) past
Metzerott Road and take a left into the University at Stadium
Drive (the entrance to the University Golf Course will be on
your right). Take the 2nd right off the circle and then the
first left onto Valley Drive. The Center for Young Children
is the 2nd building on the left. Please park in Lot YC adjacent
to the building.

South - Washington D.C.
- Take
Rhode Island Avenue (Route 1) North. Rhode Island Avenue will
turn into Baltimore Avenue (Route 1), and continue on Baltimore
Avenue North past East-West Highway. Take the left into the
University at the main entrance at Campus Drive. Follow Campus
Drive to the "M" traffic circle. Bear right at the circle onto
Regents Drive. Stay on Regent's Drive to Stadium Drive. Take
second left onto Stadium Drive immediately after the parking
garage. Stay on Stadium Drive to the left for Valley Drive.
Take the left for Valley Drive and The Center for Young Children
is the 2nd building on the left. Please park in Lot YC adjacent
to the building.

- Campus Drive entrance:
- Follow
Campus Drive to the "M" traffic circle. Bear right at the
circle onto Regents Drive. Stay on Regent's Drive to Stadium
Drive. Take second left onto Stadium Drive immediately after
the parking garage. Stay on Stadium Drive to the left for
Valley Drive. Take the left for Valley Drive and The Center
for Young Children is the 2nd building on the left. Please
park in Lot YC adjacent to the building.

Short
term parking (1 hour) is available in the parking lot YC directly
beside the CYC. Parking permits may be obtained at the CYC front
desk.
Metered parking is available in lot N2, as indicated on
the map (click on all lots at top left).
Visitors may also park for free in Lot 2a (next to the CYC's lot
YC) after 4 PM weekdays and on weekends without a permit. |

From Washington,
DC, CYC visitors can take the Metro Green Line to College Park and
then the free University of Maryland shuttle bus to the campus on
weekdays during the fall and spring semesters. Please contact the

The Center
for Young Children building is accessible to all visitors. Directly
beside the building, visitors with HC licenses or permits may park
in designated areas close to the front door. The one-story building
is equipped with HC electric doors. |
