Admission Requirements

  • Must be employed in an eligible community rehabilitation program

  • Must be able to attend one 3-5 day mid-year on-campus course

  • Minimum 2 years of college credits (60 credits)

  • Completed application, application fee, resume and transcripts

  • Letter of support signed by direct supervisor and agency director


Scholarship Eligibility

We have a limited number of scholarships from the Rehabilitation Services Administration, U.S. Department of Education. Scholarships cover full tuition and some expenses for books and travel, and are available to eligible applicants. The University of Maryland values diversity in its students, faculty and staff including age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and disability. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Agree to work in a community, non-profit or State rehabilitation agency for 1 year after completion of the program.

  • Complete an application for the RSA scholarship once accepted to the program.

 

Tuition and fees for the JDJP Program for the academic year of 08-09

The amount of tuition varies based upon entry into the program as either a graduate student (with a bachelor's degree) or undergraduate student (without a bachelor's degree).


For the 2007-08 academic year, undergraduate per credit tuition is currently $273 per credit, graduate per credit tuition is $427 per credit, and there is an administrative fee of $40 per semester (as of March 1, 2008). Students take 3 credits (1 course) per semester over 4 terms. Please note the new rates for 2008-09 are not yet posted. Application Instructions

 

1.  Please follow the web-link above to the JDJP program application.

2.  Please download, print and complete application.

3.  Please attach a brief 500 word essay stating why you would like to attend the JDJP Certificate program.

4.  Have your Agency Director and your Direct Supervisor write a joint letter of support for your application to the JDJP program. The letter should include the following:

  • your agency's understanding that you will be applying to the JDJP certificate program.

  • a statement that your agency will be supportive of the student applying their course materials to the worksite.

  • willingness to allow the student to perform a brief internship working with persons with disabilities.

  • an understanding that the agency will be in contact with JDJP program faculty to aid in the evaluation of the student's internship.

5.  Attach all transcripts, resume, essay, agency's letter of support (signed by both Direct Supervisor and Agency Director) and the $60 application fee with application and mail to:
