National Association of School Psychologists' (NASP) Conference was held February 24th-28th, 2009 in Boston, MA. Congratulations to our students that had conference presentations at NASP this year! Many of our students have submitted proposals for the 2010 NASP conference in Chicago.

Local Events

January 15th, 2009 was Legislative Day in Annapolis, MD. Our students advocated for children, families, and schools at the 2nd Annual Maryland School Psychologists' Association (MSPA) Legislative Day in our state's capital. Students, Janaiha Nelson, Marissa Johnstun, and Samantha Sedlik, led by Laura Schussler and Dr. Bill Strein, met with state senators and delegates to discuss the role of school psychologists and to advocate for children and families in Maryland schools.

SASP Professional Development Events

Fall 2008:

School Psychology Awareness Week was November 10th-14th. Laura Schussler organized goodie bags with information about NASP and treats for all students. Cyril Pickering organized a very informative Internship Panel in November. SASP thanks all of the current and past interns who presented this year!

Spring 2009:

Our students started off the Spring semester with Legislative Day in Annapolis, Maryland (see details above). On April 25, SASP is participating in the Hands on DC Work-a-Thon to help refurbish and raise money for DC Public Schools! Also, we are organizing a professional development workshop on crisis intervention.
