Dr. Chambliss's scholarship reflects a strong commitment to improving reading education for all students, especially in diverse settings. For over 15 years, she has studied the features of social studies and science texts that promote comprehension and learning for all students. She has published this work in Educational Psychologist , Reading Research Quarterly , Discourse Processes , Written Communication , and in a co-authored book, Textbooks for Learning: Nurturing Children's Minds . Recently, her work has also focused on reading instruction in elementary schools that demonstrate high quality teaching for students from diverse populations. She has reported this work at the American Educational Research Association and the International Reading Association.
