Dr. Marshall's current scholarship centers on representations of gender and sexuality in children's and young adult literature. Her research interests include children's and young adult literature, critical perspectives on language and literacy education, and feminist and literary theories. Marshall's essays have been published in Children's Literature Quarterly, College English, and Reading Research Quarterly.  Dr. Marshall is an affiliated faculty member of the Women's Studies Department.
