In just one year, you can earn a master’s degree and become certified to teach in elementary or secondary schools. 

 

Take advantage of the University of Maryland, College of Education’s Masters Certification (MCERT) program and expand your potential!

 

 

Our Program:

The program is organized around four core themes:

Teaching for understanding

Teaching for diversity

Building democratic learning communities

Our intensive, one-year program features:

Selected paid internships for secondary education program

In-state tuition rates for non-residents

Integration of coursework and field experiences

Teaching placements in Montgomery County, Prince George’s County and Howard County
