Welcome to the Special Education Program

As of July 1, 2011 the Special Education Department merged with two other departments (Education Leadership, Higher Education and International Education (EDHI) and Counseling and Personnel Services (EDCP) to form the new Department of Counseling, Higher Education and Special Education. The Special Education Program currently offers an undergraduate bachelor degree in special education that is linked to a 1-year master’s and teacher certification degree. We also offer one and two-year master’s certification programs, a master's specialty program, and doctoral degree programs. At the master’s and doctoral levels, students have the opportunity to focus in early childhood, learning disabilities, severe disabilities, behavioral disorders, and secondary and transition. You may continue to use this website to access information about degrees and program areas as the new website is being developed for the new Department.
