Program Description:
The Social Studies Education program is intended for students seeking
certification to teach social studies in grades 7-12. Completion
of the content area courses, in conjunction with the professional
education courses and field experiences, results in the awarding
of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree for students completing the
double majors in Social Studies Education/Geography and Social Studies
Education/Government. Students pursuing the double major in Social
Studies Education/History receive a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree
which requires completion of the College of Arts and Humanities
foreign language requirement. Required Praxis II Subject Assessments:
(Taken Fall Semester, Senior Year)
Social Studies: Content Knowledge (Test Code 10081) AND
Social Studies: Pedagogy (Test Code 30084)
