Five Bar Swordtail

Swordtail
butterflies are known for their long, slender tail and hind wing that follows
behind them.
These
butterflies live in the forests of Singapore. Singapore is located in Asia.
Characteristics:
If you look closely, from the body to the tip of the wings, you'll notice
the following pattern... The bottom of the wing begins with thin, horizontal,
pale-green and black stripes. The green becomes darker towards the head
of the butterfly. After a line of black spots, you will see the midwing,
which is white surrounding a light yellow. The yellow becomes darker as
it reaches the hind wing. The hind wing is long and black. The tip of the
wing ends with thick, green and black stripes. The wingspan of the butterfly
is 40-45 mm.
The
Five Bar Swordtail butterfly is the only type of genus Pathysa represented
in Singapore.
