My instructional project has been one of biggest challenges that I have had to face in relation to my work in college. Before taking EDCI 385 I felt that I knew enough about computers to "get by." I could use the internet and type papers for my classes. Throughout this semester I have learned that computers can do so much more and will be a huge asset to my classroom and me personally as a teacher. Making my instructional project was quite a task, since I tried to collaborate everything that I have learned this semester. I feel that I met all of the criteria that we have formed in class. While constructing my project, I spent many hours searching the world wide web for graphics and backgrounds to make my project aesthetically pleasing. I also used many different colors and fonts to make my lesson more fun and appealing. I feel that the content of my lesson is quite simple because it is meant for first and second grade students, but it is very thorough in its descriptions and examples of the shapes. I also feel that my project is very clear. The directions are easy to follow and everything is linked together. I also feel that my project is motivational and promotes thinking, especially because the children get to use another computer program to draw their own shapes. I feel that my instructional project has met our criteria and is an effective learning tool. I devoted so much time and effort into this project and it was an amazing learning experience that I benefited from and hope that others can too.
