> The College of Education participates in the Japanese-U.S. Teacher Education Consortium (JUSTEC), encouraging comparative research in K-12 education in two countries.

> The Early Childhood Education program is moved into the Department of Human Development.

> The College receives a number of grants. Center for Human Resources Development receives a major grant to work with persons with disabilities. Ellen Fabian and David B. Hershenson, Counseling and Personnel Services, are awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to study rehabilitation long-term training. Joan Ann Lieber, Special Education, receives a Syracuse University grant for the Consortium for Collaborative Research on Social Relationships.

> Patricia Campbell, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, is elected to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) board of directors.

> The Curriculum Lab and Reserve Desk are eliminated.
