School Counseling Admission Requirements


The following criteria are used for gaining admission to the school counseling program:

  1. Complete the Graduate School Application.
In addition to other information, the grad school application includes: Three letters of recommendation (uploaded directly to the website by the recommenders), transcripts, and GRE scores.
  1. Complete the supplemental application at the graduate school website. The supplemental application includes the following:

    • Writing Sample: School Equity Scenario (150 words).
    • A 1000-2000 word personal statement. This is a statement of your goals, research interests and experiences.

After initial screening of applicants, selected applicants will be invited to campus for in-depth interview with program faculty.

The School Counseling Program admissions is very competitive. THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIVING APPLICATIONS FOR FALL ADMISSION IS DECEMBER 1.
